Australia considers prohibition of all gambling ads following parliamentary inquiry
A parliamentary inquiry in Australia has proposed a blanket ban on all gambling advertisements, a move which could transform the country's online gambling sector
A parliamentary inquiry in Australia has recommended a phased ban on all gambling advertising within three years.
The House of Representatives committee on social policy and legal affairs outlined 31 measures for reforming Australia's gambling sector.
The recommendations include a blanket ban on all gambling advertising online and on broadcast media, and a move of regulation and licensing to the federal level, among other measures. In response, trade body Responsible Wagering Australia criticized the proposed ban, calling it a "step too far".
