Australian government takes action against illegal CS:GO skins gambling site
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has taken action against CS:GO Roll, an illegal online gambling site, by issuing a warning to its operator, Feral Holdings Ltd.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has announced its enforcement action against CS:GO Roll, an illegal online gambling site that allowed users to gamble with in-game skins from the popular video game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The ACMA issued a warning to Feral Holdings Ltd., the operator of CS:GO Roll, and the site has been withdrawn from Australia. The investigation revealed that CS:GO Roll offered casino-style games, which are prohibited under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 when played for money or any other form of value.
The use of in-game skins, targeted at the youth market, raised concerns about the potential conversion of gamers into gamblers. Feral Holdings received a formal warning for violating Australian gambling laws.
