The Balearic Islands are the first Spanish region to update slot machines with warning signs and less encouraging features, such as turning off certain features that extend play
The Balearic Islands in Spain have introduced new legislation to update slot machines with warning screens featuring questions about age and addiction awareness, as well as the ability to turn off certain features and display a warning screen when vacant, in an effort to protect vulnerable individuals from gambling addiction.
Although the official deadline for adapting the machines is the end of 2024, authorities are urging operators to implement the changes as soon as possible.
