Crown Resorts, an Australian casino operator, has agreed to pay a civil penalty of AU$450 million to resolve ongoing legal issues and breaches of law and regulations, including violations of anti-money laundering laws.
The agreement with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) has been filed with the Federal Court and is pending approval.
Crown Resorts CEO Ciarán Carruthers expressed apologies for the past failings and emphasized the company's commitment to harm minimization and safe gambling.
