Crown Resorts Ordered to Pay AU$20.0m Fine for Tax Rule Breaches in Victoria
Crown Resorts, the operator of Crown Melbourne casino in Victoria, has been fined AU$20.0m for breaching tax rules and concealing tax deductions from regulators.
Australian casino operator Crown Resorts has been fined AU$20.0m for breaching tax rules in the state of Victoria.
The fine was imposed in response to findings from the 2021 Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence, which revealed that Crown improperly claimed tax deductions and concealed the nature of these deductions from regulators.
In addition to the fine, Crown has paid approximately $61.5m in unpaid casino tax and penalty interest.
