Curaçao implements stricter standards for online gambling operators
Curaçao introduces stricter standards for online gambling operators, aiming to enhance anti-money laundering measures and player protection
Curaçao's Minister of Finance, Javier Silvania, announced the implementation of stricter standards for online gambling operators, starting from September 1.
The new legislation, known as the National Gambling Ordinance (LOK), will enhance anti-money laundering measures, fraud prevention, and player protection in the gambling industry.
The Gaming Control Board (GCB) will enforce the new standards, initially issuing licenses under the current legislation and transitioning them to the new regulatory framework.
To improve transparency and credibility, a dedicated portal will be launched for operators to register their license applications, aiming to align Curaçao's regulations with reputable jurisdictions and international laws.
