Denmark introduces new measures for land-based betting
Denmark is set to introduce a new executive order that requires players to register when placing a bet in land-based betting shops, in line with KYC and AML processes standard in online gambling
Denmark is set to implement new land-based and retail gambling regulations to align with online gambling's KYC and AML processes.
The Danish ministry of taxation issued an executive order on land-based betting that requires players to register with businesses they place bets with, eliminating anonymity to enhance consumer protection, AML and match-fixing prevention measures.
The new rules will make it more difficult for under 18s and self-excluded individuals to place bets and will mandate the adoption of written internal rules and procedures on responsible gambling.
The order will take effect from October 1, 2023.
