Dutch Regulator provides limited guidance on implementation of gambling ad ban
We are only able to provide the requested 'guidance' to a limited extent... Like the industry, we will have to find our way in this.
René Jansen, Chairman of the Dutch gambling regulator de Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), addressed the upcoming untargeted ad ban in the Netherlands and acknowledged the industry's call for guidance. However, Jansen emphasized that the KSA can only provide limited support as various aspects of the new ban are uncharted territory. He also highlighted concerns about the ban's impact on channelization to legal offerings and urged operators to prioritize compliance and data protection.
Jansen emphasized that the KSA will not tolerate inadequate data vaults and is prepared to take strict actions, including license suspension or revocation, if necessary. He urged operators to prioritize fair and safe practices to rebuild public confidence in the gambling industry.
