Former gambling addicts and families marched to ban gambling ads in football
Former gambling addicts and their families marched across the North East last week as part of a campaign to persuade the government to ban gambling adverts in football.
Campaigners walked 40 miles (65km) from Tyneside to Teesside via the area's three biggest clubs - Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough, all of which had gambling firms as front-of-shirt sponsors.
The march was organised by campaign group The Big Step, and it began on Friday outside Newcastle's St James' Park before visiting Sunderland's Stadium of Light. The event finished at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium at about 17:30 GMT.
