The French government proposes new requirements for responsible gambling messages in online gambling ads, including a mandatory warning message and information about support services
The French government has proposed new requirements for responsible gambling messages in online gambling advertisements.
The draft decree mandates the inclusion of a warning message about excessive or pathological gambling, along with information about available support services for customers experiencing gambling-related harm.
The warning message should be displayed in black writing on a yellow background, covering at least 15% of online ads and 7% of cinema and poster ads.
Video ads must include a non-skippable five-second packshot with the message.
The deadline for implementation would be 30 days after the approval of the rules.
The proposed regulations aim to adapt and improve the effectiveness of prevention messages in response to the rising number of people experiencing gambling problems in France.
