Georgia has introduced tough new gambling restrictions, banning over a million citizens from gambling, imposing online casino restrictions, and raising taxes
Georgia has introduced a new law banning over a million people from gambling, including those under 25, public employees, the socially vulnerable, and those blacklisted by courts.
The law also imposes restrictions on online casinos, with licences only available to land-based casinos based in the country.
The government plans to offer a licence for exclusive rights to operate online casinos for a fee of €1.6m, and has also introduced separate gaming licences for specific verticals.
All gambling advertising on TV, websites and public places has also been banned, and gambling taxes have been raised.
