Kentucky sets launch dates for legal sports betting, both retail and online
Kentucky has finalized the launch dates for legal sports betting, with retail operations starting on September 7 and online wagering following on September 28
Kentucky is set to introduce legal sports betting on September 7, beginning with retail operations, followed by online wagering on September 28.
The agreement between Governor Andy Beshear, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC), and state lawmakers enables Kentuckians to place legal sports bets within 60 days.
House Bill 551 paved the way for sports betting, allowing nine racetracks to offer on-site retail sports betting and up to three online operators as partners.
The KHRC has approved emergency administrative regulations to govern sports betting and is now commencing the licensing process for interested horseracing facilities.
