KSA fines Bingoal €400K for targeting young adults with advertising messages
Bingoal faces a €400,000 fine from the KSA for sending advertising messages aimed at young adults
The Dutch gaming regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has fined Bingoal €400,000 for directing advertising messages towards young adults, in violation of regulations prohibiting gambling advertisements aimed at that age group. This marks the fifth fine imposed by the KSA on operators for similar violations.
While Bingoal acknowledged sending the messages, they argued that they were not specifically targeting young adults but rather general advertising for all players, raising concerns about the interpretation of the regulations and the legal certainty principle.
Bingoal maintained that their advertisements did not violate the relevant articles of the Betting and Gaming Act and the advertising and addiction prevention decree.
