Macau's Chief Executive, Ho Iat Seng, has "basically" approved the rejuvenation plans for the city's older districts submitted by the six casino operators.
During a press conference, Ho praised the plans as being well-done and detailed, expressing hope for their prompt implementation. He emphasized the need for coordination between the public and private sectors to revitalize the older districts and align their development with the Cotai district.
Ho also mentioned the casino operators' fulfillment of non-gambling commitments made during the license bidding process, noting that such investments will contribute to the development of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), culture, and sports in Macau.
Additionally, Macau lawmakers have shown overall satisfaction with a bill aimed at updating regulations on granting credit to gamblers, with concerns focused on ensuring its effectiveness in addressing potential issues.
