The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has launched a consultation on a draft Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Code of Good Practice.
The Code is intended to help prepare Malta-licensed gambling operators for upcoming ESG legislation, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
The MGA has developed the draft code through a process of peer review, research, materiality assessment, and stakeholder interviews.
Initially, it will apply to online gambling, but the regulator stated that it may extend the code to the land-based gambling sector.
