Kenya's Media Council urges media organizations to uphold licensing regulations and exercise vigilance in gambling advertising to protect investors
The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has expressed concern over the increasing number of gambling advertisements and promotions in the country, urging media practitioners and enterprises to be vigilant and ensure that such advertising is limited to licensed activities as regulated by the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB).
MCK's chief executive emphasized the importance of adhering to the Media Council Act 2013 and ensuring fair and unbiased coverage of matters of public interest, while protecting investors and upholding high standards of media practice.
