The Netherlands has introduced a ban on most forms of gambling advertising, including television, radio, print, and public places such as billboards and gaming venues.
The phased rollout will also halt gambling sponsorship of events and clubs.
However, targeted advertising in certain contexts, such as on-demand streaming services, social media, and online gaming environments, will still be permitted, with an emphasis on ensuring that 95% of viewers are over the age of 24.
The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has indicated a restrained approach to enforcement, monitoring operators' compliance with the new rules.
