Norway's Lottstift to find new operator for 24-hour gambling helpline
Lottstift seeks new operator for Norway's problem gambling helpline Hjelpelinjen; current operator will stop managing it in 2023
Norway's gambling regulator, Lottstift, is seeking a new operator for the country's 24-hour problem gambling helpline, Hjelpelinjen.
The service is currently run by Sykehuset Innlandet, but the health trust for the provinces of Hedmark and Oppland will cease managing it at the end of 2023.
Lottstift said it was disappointed by Sykehuset Innlandet's decision but promised the helpline service would not be interrupted.
The Norwegian government's Action Plan for 2022-2025 included plans to develop and strengthen the helpline, which received 825 calls in 2022.
