Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed the state's 2024-25 budget bill, which includes a rise in the sports betting tax from 10% to 20%.
The increased tax is projected to generate an additional $100 million in revenue, primarily for the Sports Gaming Profits Education Fund.
The budget proposal was originally suggested by DeWine earlier in the year.
Of the increased tax revenue, 2% will go to the Problem Sports Gaming Fund.
