SkillOnNet fined for social responsibility and AML failures in the UK
Operator SkillOnNet will pay £305,150 and undergo an independent third-party audit as a result of breaching the UK Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice
Operator SkillOnNet has been ordered to pay £305,150 for breaching Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) following a Gambling Commission investigation. The probe revealed shortcomings in SkillOnNet's social responsibility and anti-money laundering measures.
The licensee's interactions were deemed ineffective in assessing individual risks, relying solely on customers' statements without proper scrutiny or further information.
As part of the regulatory settlement, SkillOnNet will make the payment towards socially responsible causes, publish a statement of facts about the case, cover the Commission's investigation costs, and conduct an independent audit within 12 months to evaluate the implementation of AML and safer gambling policies.
The penalty aims to address the failures and improve compliance in the operator's operations.
