Slovakian gambling regulator sees increase in inspections year-on-year
The Gambling Regulation Office (ÚRHH) in Slovakia reported a significant increase in inspections during the first quarter of 2023, conducting 2,511 checks compared to the previous year
The Slovakian gambling regulator, the Gambling Regulation Office (ÚRHH), conducted 2,511 inspections in the first quarter of 2023, marking a year-on-year increase of 201 inspections.
This rise can be attributed to a restructuring of supervision and a heightened focus on performance from the regulator's leadership.
The establishment of a specialized online gaming department also contributed to more effective supervision.
The ÚRHH conducts inspections to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and prevent illegal gambling activities, with a particular emphasis on detecting unlicensed establishments and protecting vulnerable groups.
