Spain’s Ministry of Consumer Affairs has launched a grant scheme to support research on problem gambling harms and addiction, with a €1.6m fund
Spain’s Ministry of Consumer Affairs has launched a €1.6m grant scheme to fund research on problem gambling and addiction.
The grant will support Spanish healthcare and welfare organisations to prevent gambling problems and associated risks, and to develop tools for early detection of risky gambling behaviours.
The focus of the research will be on the individual, family, or social harms associated with gambling activities, as well as the relationship between the video game sector and gambling activities.
The scheme also aims to minimize the negative consequences of gambling activities and to incorporate a gender perspective.
