The Cabinet of Ministers in Sri Lanka has granted approval to draft a bill for the creation of the Gambling Regularization Authority.
The proposed authority aims to regulate gambling establishments by implementing expected tariffs, preventing gambling-related crimes, and mitigating the negative impact of gambling on individuals and society.
The decision to establish the authority was based on a proposal put forth by the President, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policies.
The bill will be drafted by the Legal Draftsman to formalize the establishment of the Gambling Regularization Authority.
