Svenska Spel calls on Sweden to sign anti-match fixing convention
Svenska Spel has made three recommendations to combat match fixing in Sweden, including signing the convention against it
Swedish gambling operator Svenska Spel has made recommendations to the country's government about tackling match fixing in sport. These included signing the convention against match fixing, granting authority to the Gambling Inspectorate to investigate suspected match fixing, and informing the police on its prevalence.
Dan Korhonen, Svenska Spel's head of sports betting integrity, noted patterns that should be studied when match fixing is suspected, and how gambling operators should remain vigilant. The event was attended by Swedish former footballer Anders Wikström and Niklas Wykman, the country's minister of financial markets.
