Ukraine Gambling Council defends Parimatch against government ban
UGC wants the Ukrainian government to lift sanctions imposed on Parimatch and PokerMatch, saying their inclusion on the blacklist was an error.
The Ukraine Gambling Council (UGC) has defended Parimatch after the online sports betting casino and a second site, PokerMatch, were included on a list of blacklisted companies issued by the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine last week.
Representatives from the UGC want the country's government to lift the sanctions imposed on both companies and to oppose illegal gambling sites instead of legal ones.
Parimatch has denied financial and other links to the Russian government and insists it is pro-Ukrainian.
