Ukraine proposes to replace regulator due to delayed licensing
Ukraine deputy prime minister Mykhailo Fedorov submitted a draft law to dissolve the country’s regulator (KRAIL) and replace it with a new executive body
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has submitted a draft law to the country’s legislature to dissolve the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) and replace it with a new executive body, following its ongoing failure to issue gambling licenses in a timely manner.
The proposed changes would revise the principles of the formation and functioning of KRAIL by transforming it from a collegial body into a more centralised executive, thus improving governance and mitigating corruption in Ukraine’s gambling industry.
