WWE merger with UFC parent Endeavor raises betting speculation
WWE and UFC's parent company, Endeavor Group, are merging, raising the possibility of WWE betting, with the new company's enterprise value at $21.4bn
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is merging with Endeavor Group, parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), resulting in a combined $21.4bn sports entertainment giant.
Endeavor owns sportsbook technology provider OpenBet, and the transaction has reignited thoughts of WWE betting.
The companies put the enterprise value of UFC at $12.1bn and WWE's value at $9.3bn.
If betting were to be added to WWE, it would be locked down with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.
The merger is targeted to close in H2 2022 and needs regulatory approval. Whether WWE’s new era will include betting remains to be seen.
